Strictly adheres to the general ethical guidelines provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA). Depending on the principles and general publication requirements set out in these guidelines, editors, reviewers and authors should take the following responsibilities according to professional and ethical standards. The proper and ethical functioning of the publication process depends on the fulfillment of these responsibilities.

Ethical Responsibilities of Editors: The editor is responsible for the proper execution of the publication process of all articles published in the journal. It is obliged to make efforts to contribute to the improvement of the quality of the journal. The editor supports the authors' freedom of expression. The editor takes care that the published articles are compatible with the knowledge and skills of the journal readers. The editor sends the articles to the referees who are suitable for their knowledge and expertise. It is ensured that the referees are scientists who evaluate the articles objectively, fulfill the refereeing process on time, evaluate the article with constructive criticism and act in accordance with the ethical rules. Thus, it is ensured that the articles are evaluated appropriately by experts in the field. It is noted that the referees have no conflict of interest with the author(s). The editor takes care that the peer review process continues with double blindness; the authors are not allowed to know the referees and the referees are not allowed to know the authors.

Ethical Responsibilities of Referees: Referees are only required to referee articles related to their field of expertise. The reviewers should conduct the assessment in a neutral and confidential manner. When the referees understand that there is a conflict of interest, they should inform the editors by refusing to evaluate the article. Referees are required to fill out the Referee Evaluation Form for the articles they evaluate. The reviewers are also required to state in this form whether the article they are evaluating can be published or not, and the reasons for their decision. Referees should conduct the evaluation in a constructive manner in accordance with academic etiquette and avoid personal comments that involve insults and hostility. Reviewers are required to complete their assessments within the time allotted to them and are expected to comply with the ethical responsibilities set forth herein.

Ethical Responsibilities of the Author(s): Submitted articles should be original studies suitable for the specified fields of study. They should indicate the persons who have a significant share in their work as co-authors. Persons who do not contribute to the article should not be written as authors, and it should not be recommended to change the author order of an article applied for publication, to remove an author, or to add an author. A work cannot be published without the consent of all of its authors. The bibliography list should be complete and prepared correctly, and the quoted sources should be specified. The author(s) cannot send their articles sent for publication to another journal at the same time. Articles submitted for publication should not be contrary to scientific publication ethics (plagiarism, forgery, distortion, republication, slicing, unfair authorship, not specifying the supporting organization). Ethics committee approval must be obtained for clinical and experimental studies on humans and animals that require ethics committee approval, and this approval must be specified and documented in the article. All clinical trials submitted for publication in the Journal of Medical Clinics; all kinds of research conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require the collection of data from participants using questionnaires, interviews, focus group studies, observations, experiments, interview techniques, all kinds of studies using identifiable human biological material and data, all kinds of research related to data considered as special/sensitive data within the scope of the Personal Data Protection Law are subject to the approval of the Ethics Committee. In studies requiring ethics committee permission, information about the permission (board name, date and number) should be included in the method section. It is necessary to obtain permission from the owners for the use of the scale, questionnaire, photographs belonging to others and to document this situation and to state that the copyright regulations for intellectual and artistic works are complied with.

Ethical Responsibilities of the Publisher: The publisher must accept that the decision maker is the responsibility of the editor at all stages of the article publication process. The publisher is obliged to protect the ownership and copyright of each published article and to keep a record of each published copy. The publisher is obliged to provide free electronic access to the articles in all issues of the journal.

Notification to the Editor of a Condition Not Complying with Ethical Principles: In case of a situation contrary to ethical principles related to an article in the evaluation process or published in the Journal of Medical Clinics, a message should be sent to tfk@aydin.edu.tr.

ETİK İLKELER VE YAYIN POLİTİKASI Etik Kurallar Tıp Fakültesi Klinikleri Dergisi, yayın sürecinin her aşamasında etik…
